English & Western Riding Lessons at Leap of Faith Farms

At Leap of Faith Farms we offer a unique, in-depth approach to teaching riding lessons.  Our horses are all carefully selected, quality animals who receive top-notch care and feeding, and our instructors are hand-picked experts who have a wealth of experience and information to share with you.  Our hope is that you will not simply learn to ride, but that you will gain actual horsemanship through your experience here.

Your first lesson will be a full hour one-on-one session with either our Head Riding Instructor, Cara Hayden (for ENGLISH lessons) or with Krystal Bevan (for WESTERN lessons.)
In this one-on-one session you will learn how to care for the horse, tack and untack, as well as learn essential skills both on and off the horse.  During this time it will be established whether you are Level 1 (walking and trotting), Level 2 (walking, trotting, and cantering), or Level 3 (advanced work, including trail riding, dressage, and jumping.)  After the first lesson, it will be determined whether the student should continue with half-hour private lessons, or move on to full hour group lessons (2-5 students.)   We begin lessons at five years old, and also have many adult riders.

All students are required to purchase an approved hard hat (prices range from $50 to $450), boots with heels ($50 to $500), and half-chaps if you purchased paddock boots ($60-$125) prior to their first lesson.

Thank you for your interest in lessons at Leap of Faith Farms.  Please contact Cara Hayden 646-327-3777 or equestrianexcell@aol.com for more information or to schedule a lesson.
