Meanwhile, two excellent Western trainers are bringing their skills to Leap of Faith Farms to train and teach here for us in the interim. Both Nan Kreeger and Jeff Fox are on-site and available several times a week. Please see their Bio's below, and call Leap of Faith Farms to schedule with them.
NAN KREEGER:
Nan Kreeger is one of the most widely known
and respected Western
Trainers in Northern California. She is an accomplished AQHA
Professional, AQHA Congress, and World Champion rider, trainer,
and
judge. Nan has claimed many World Champion and Reserve Champion
wins
throughout her decades of training and showing. Her students have
won
numerous championships at AQHA and Congress level shows. She
instructs
novices through professionals in all aspects of the Showmanship,
Horsemanship,
Trail and Western Pleasure show divisions.
She is a trainer that other Professionals hold in the highest
esteem, yet
she is gladly willing to teach beginner children who are serious
about
improving their skills.
Her
knowledge comes from years of training with other renowned and
historic
trainers in the Western
world, such as Red Randall. She has trained
many amateurs that are now trainers themselves, and her
credentials are
as impressive as her results. She pushes her students to do well
and will
guide them in the right direction.
In or
out of the show pen, she truly helps you to show the best side of
your
horse. Nan is meticulous about the horses and training, and will
bring out your very best. You
could be her next success story!
JEFF FOX:
Jeff Fox has extensive experience in the western disciplines
of
Reining, Western Pleasure, Working Cow Horse and Cutting. His
competitive career began at age 12, where he started a successful
show
career with quarter horses. Jeff showed in quarter
horse breed shows and 4H, in showmanship, hunter under
saddle,
equitation, western pleasure, horsemanship and trail. Over his
youth
horse show career, highlights include Quarter Horse
Congress NYATT Western Pleasure Champion, as well as
multiple top
five finishes in the AJQHA World Show in Western Pleasure and
Horsemanship. He achieved making the Finals of the AQHA World
Championships in Senior Western Pleasure as a youth. Over his show
career he has attained AQHA Superior awards with multiple horses in
multiple events.
As his youth career was coming to a close, Jeff turned his attention
to
Reiners, where he competed as a non-pro for five years, winning
numerous
titles on multiple mounts. Highlights from this time included 3
straight youth reining wins at the Houston Livestock
Show & Rodeo, top ten finishes in the AQHYA World
Show and
Quarter Horse Congress,
National
Reining Horse
Association (NRHA) Non-Pro Division of the
SuperStakes, Derby, Lazy
E Classic, and various non-pro awards. During this time Jeff won
more
than ten thousand dollars in NRHA earnings. In 1996 he won the
National Reining Horse Association's Limited Non-Pro Derby, an
outstanding
achievement. Jeff rode professionally in Europe between 1999-2000,
and has continued to ride, train, and teach since then. He started
many 2 year-old Reiners who went on to very successful careers,
including
the winner of the 1998 Quarter Horse
Congress
Non Pro Reining Futurity, “Lacy Jay Dunit.”
Jeff particularly enjoys working with young and green horses and
riders. His training program is designed to produce horses that are
quiet and responsive to soft cues, and riders that think, look
ahead, and
communicate with their mount. Jeff
Fox
currently rides for fun at Leap of Faith Farms.
